The Swedish Broadcasting Authority (Mediemyndigheten) has issued a call for all commercial radio licenses in Sweden. The licenses will be valid from August 1st 2026 until July 31st 2034. At stake are three national FM licenses, 35 regional FM licenses in 21 broadcasting areas and 30 national services on the digital broadcasting platform DAB+.
The deadline for applications for the three national FM licenses is noon December 12th 2025. The deadline for applications for the regional FM licenses and the 30 digital radio services is noon March 6th 2026.
